storytelling through museful design

Through furniture, lighting, band backdrops, and tabletop designs, we reflect every client’s vision and style. Our compositions are functional, beautiful, and timeless – with a dash of fun or the unexpected. To create intimacy in expansive landscapes we design and build vignettes, or outdoor living rooms, that inspire conversation and stir the imagination. These inviting, distinctively styled lounges set the stage for incredible celebrations, transforming every event into a memorable one.

a.Studio’s design motifs narrate each event’s story. For instance, we might ensconce a bar with the couple’s wedding logo or, as a nod to nature and the season, we might incorporate faux bois dinnerware, model a chandelier after a tumbleweed, or suspend masses of brass aspen leaves from the ceiling.

Our guiding principles are contrast, movement, repetition, variety, and cohesion. In transition from nature to natural environments, these principles work to create unique backdrops for any occasion.

Our mission is to create backdrops for celebrations that are distinct and inspiring. The central ethos of a.Studio is to blur the boundaries of nature with our passion for interiors.

Frannie Aura founded New Leaf Design in 2007. A talented floral and landscape designer, she expanded her company to include event design, eventually creating a.Studio in partnership with longtime friend and logistics coordinator, Amber Davidson. Frannie brings the same careful eye to event design that she uses with flowers - focusing on balance, beauty, and symmetry, ultimately curating spaces that feel like a well designed home. Frannie’s designs are rooted in the surrounding landscapes, weaving her clients’ interests with natural elements into backdrops that are at once functional and stunning.

After years of working as an Interior Designer, Amber Davidson transitioned into the world of events and began working with Frannie and New Leaf Design in 2016. With her background in interior design, construction management, and space planning, Amber brings a keen understanding of space, material, and building principles to the studio. Her skillful use of programs like AutoCad and SketchUp mean she can translate design ideas into tangible renderings. Collectively, such design practices allow her to dovetail the whimsical with the practical, ultimately sharpening both the planning and delivery of exceptional events.
